Who we are, and how we make money
HVACQuoteConnect is an online matching and lead-generation service that connects homeowners with independent, licensed local contractors for air conditioning, heating, heat pump, and ductless mini-split projects. We are not a contractor and we do not perform work. This page explains exactly what we do, who operates the service, and how we are paid — because you should know that before you give anyone your phone number.
How we make money
Our service is free to homeowners. We are paid by the contractors, not by you. When you submit a request, we match it to licensed local contractors who have told us they serve your area and your project type. Those contractors pay us a fee to receive that introduction.
That fee is the entire business. We are paid whether or not you hire anyone, and we are paid the same regardless of which matched contractor you choose — so we have no reason to steer you toward one over another. We do not take a commission on your project, we do not mark up any quote, and we never charge you.
Being paid by contractors is a real conflict of interest and we would rather name it than hide it: it means we are motivated to send more requests, which is why the quality controls below exist and why we do not use countdown timers, fake scarcity, or invented reviews to push you into submitting.
What we actually do
- You tell us about the project. A short form — project type, a few qualifying details, your ZIP code, and how to reach you.
- We check coverage. Your ZIP is matched against the areas our contractor partners actually serve. If nobody covers you, we say so rather than taking your details anyway.
- We introduce you to licensed local pros. Up to four, matched to your project. They contact you directly.
- You compare and decide. Or you decide not to. There is no obligation at any point, and you are never charged.
What we are not
- We are not a contractor. We do not perform air-conditioning, heating, heat-pump or mini-split work, and we do not employ anyone who does.
- We are not affiliated with any government agency, utility, or public program. We are a private company. No part of this service is a government benefit, rebate, or grant program.
- We are not a lender. Where financing is mentioned, it is arranged directly between you and a contractor or their lender. We do not offer credit, set terms, or approve anyone.
- We do not warrant the contractors' work. They are independent local businesses. You contract with them directly, and they are responsible for their own licensing, insurance, workmanship and warranty.
How we hold ourselves to this
- No invented reviews. Any testimonial on this site that is not from a named, consenting customer is labeled as illustrative, on the testimonial itself.
- No unsupported numbers. Cost figures are ranges from published industry sources, labeled as estimates, with the method shown. We do not publish a price we cannot source.
- No manufactured urgency. No countdown timers, no "3 people are viewing", no expiring offers.
- No selling your data to unrelated advertisers. Your details go to the contractors matched to your request and to our delivery partner, BlueFire Leads. See our Privacy Policy and Marketing Partners page for exactly who that is.
